This 60 minute comprehensive first appointment is designed for individuals who have undergone breast cancer treatment, surgery or complex medical care. Your appointment will include:

detailed medical and treatment history
expert assessment and clinical reasoning
identification of contributing factors to pain, swelling or dysfunction
personalised advice and hands-on treatment where appropriate
clear recommendations for ongoing care

This appointment is required before booking follow-up physiotherapy appointments or acupuncture to ensure safe, effective and individualised treatment.

Lymphoedema Assessment & Treatment

For suspected arm or breast lymphoedema. Please note we do not diagnose or provide management of lower limb lymphoedema. Assessment includes full arm measurements and calculation of total limb volumes to determine presence of lymphoedema and to guide treatment. Treatment includes:

manual lymphatic drainage (MLD)
Lymphatouch therapy, if indicated
prescription of compression garments (if required)

Acupuncture

Acupuncture for the treatment of:

Post-Operative Recovery Session

A 45 minute specialist treatment designed to support your recovery following surgery, combining medical lymphatic drainage, scar therapy and kinesiotaping, where appropriate.

Your appointment includes an individual assessment and tailored treatment plan based on your surgery, stage of healing and presenting symptoms, for example, if you are between 0-6 weeks post op, treatment will be more focused on lymphatic drainage, and if you are 6+ weeks post op, treatment will be more focused on scar therapy.

Treatment may include:

Medical lymphatic drainage (MLD): to support lymphatic flow and help manage post-operative swelling.
Lymphatouch® negative pressure therapy: to address tissue tightness, fibrosis, swelling and scar restrictions where appropriate.
Specialist scar therapy: including myofascial release and scar massage to improve tissue mobility and address restrictions.
Aftercare advice: personalised guidance and self-management techniques to support your recovery between appointments.

Suitable following a range of surgical procedures, including tummy tuck, liposuction, breast augmentation, breast explant, breast reconstruction, cancer surgery and joint replacement.

Treatment can begin as early as 3 days after surgery for appropriate lymphatic drainage treatment, provided you have clearance from your surgeon. Scar therapy will only be introduced once the incision is appropriately healed and the scabs have fully come away.

Please avoid alcohol for 48 hours before your appointment.

No separate initial consultation is required. Your assessment and treatment are included in the appointment, with all techniques selected according to your individual needs and stage of recovery.
